Gym Contracts: New Cancellation Right

Civil Code Sections 1812.84, 1812.85

The law used to give consumers 3 days to cancel gym contracts that were for less than $1,000. Consumers had more time to cancel contracts that were for $1,000 or more.

This new law gives consumers 3 days to cancel contracts that are for less than $1,500. The time to cancel contracts for $1,500 or more remains the same as before.
