Domestic Partners: Adding or removing a domestic partner no longer reappraises property (Revenue and Taxation Code 62) Effective July 1, 2006 This law allows domestic partners to add or remove each other from the title to their property, and keep the same property tax amount. This law gives domestic partners the same rights spouses get under California property tax laws. Action: DCA’s Real Estate Fraud Unit takes complaints from registered domestic partners for violations of this law.
