Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe (Fourth District) welcomes an enthusiastic group of citizens at a Smarter Seniors Forum at the San Pedro Service Center.

SAN PEDRO - "We're here to help. We're here to serve."

Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe capped his welcome message at a recent Smarter Seniors Forum with that simple message. It was a reminder to the large crowd at the San Pedro Service Center that the County government can help all citizens, especially the growing senior population.

Supervisor Knabe joined an experienced group of speakers, including experts from the Department of Consumer Affairs. DCA co-presented the Smarter Seniors Forum.

"Everything was great," said Rita Tripp, who attended the event. "The first time I came to one of these (presentations) I didn't pay much attention. But this time I was focused and I loved all the topics."

The next Smarter Seniors Forum will take place on Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Arcadia Community Center in Arcadia.
