Our Director

Pastor Herrera, Jr. has been involved in the area of consumer protection for over thirty (30) years. In March 1991, he was appointed Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer Affairs. The Department was created by County ordinance in July 1975.
Prior to his employment with the County of Los Angeles, he was on staff with United Way, Inc., the East Los Angeles Community Service Organization and has served as a consultant to community-based organizations. He has also been employed as a part time teacher and adult school counselor with the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Mr. Herrera graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He is a native of Los Angeles, California and speaks Spanish fluently.

Mr. Herrera has made numerous presentations at national and regional conferences on consumer fraud, senior and low-income consumer protection issues and outreach to the hard to reach communities.
